‘An Unnatural History of Moths’ is a collection of drawings and watercolours based on the concept of camouflaged moths. The moths are fictitious and exist in a fictitious landscape, but the principles of camouflage remain. They are both apart from the landscape and pretending to be it. The world that is depicted is a figment of the artist’s imagination, and the process by which they are made involves Christopher Crouch and Cherish Marrington working on the same work, creating a space that is coherent but alienating. This show is a part of an ongoing body of work.
