Would you like to live creatively while being mindful of your impact on the environment at the same time?
Join textile and visual artist Annette Wiguna, as she takes you on a journey of botanical dyeing and printing (aka ecoprint) to discover the hidden potential of Australian native plants and ordinary food items from your pantry. You will explore different methods of mordanting cellulose and protein based fibres/cloths that are affordable and easily accessed. The skills that you will learn in this workshop will enable you to revive old and stained garments, extend the life of expired pantry goods, and shift the way you perceive your environment.
This workshop will be held in the beautiful garden of Victoria Park Centre for the Arts, if weather permits. You will explore diverse plants that have been cared for by the staff and volunteers of VPCA. Some of these will be used in the printing process.
Early registration is highly recommended for this very popular workshop.
