Bird painting workshop

In this bird painting workshop, Jane will share her study of birds, covering drawing theory, bird anatomy, feather group analyzation, beak and feet drawing. You will learn about observing birds, watercolour techniques, shading and colour.

Botanical drawing and painting workshop

In this workshop Jane will guide you step by step to draw and paint a botanical artwork. You will explore techniques of drawing with pen and painting with watercolour, learn how to build up depth and dimension by using lines, shapes, shading and softening skills, learn how to mix colours and how/when to use different types of brushes. In addition, you will also learn how to design your artwork considering composition.


Drawing sessions with Peter Zappa

Introductory session: Wednesday 30 October, 1.00pm-3.00pm
$5.00 for members / $15.00 for non-members
Victoria Park Centre for the Arts is excited to announce that local artist and sculptor Peter Zappa is conducting a short series of drawing sessions for VPCA members to develop their drawing skills. Peter will assist attendees with sketching, design ideas and developing an idea towards an outcome. Come along and join in with one of Perth’s respected professional artists who will be on hand to share his experiences and approaches with you.
Peter is represented by Mossenson Galleries and is currently included in the Sydney Contemporary exhibition.

14-15 Dec. Artists have been re-interpreting nature for millennia. In this workshop students will learn to critically analyse images taken from nature and use them as springboards to creating abstract mosaics.
