The VPCA Summer Residency Program 2027

31 January, 2027

The Victoria Park Centre for the Arts is launching our inaugural Summer Residency Program!

We are opening our gallery spaces for artists, performers, and writers looking for a collaborative residency space. There are two spaces available from January 31 to February 16:

1. The Front Room, a private, lockable space for an artist or artist group.
2. The Main Gallery, an open plan studio space for hotdesk residencies.

See the venue map at the bottom of this page.

Each creative resident will be given a desk, in-kind hire and administrative support, facility and internet access, and two weeks of collaborative, open-plan studio space at the Victoria Park Centre for the Arts. This is a space to work together, collaborate, support, and develop works in progress across multiple artforms. Whether you are a poet, painter, or dancer, whether you work digitally or communally, the Victoria Park Centre for the Arts is open to you. We hope to provide additional support, cheap venue hire, administration, promotion and constructive feedback and encouragement for interested creative beings.

The Summer Residency program can be a promise to yourself to make time and space for your creative talents, your artistic hopes and dreams, and a chance to connect with the local creative community in Boorloo. Apply by sending an email to director@vicparkarts.org.au with:

  • A short (100-300 word) description of your creative practice, and what you plan to work on during your residency.
  • A one to two page CV
  • 3 examples of previous work in a single PDF or file link.
  • Any equipment requirements or requests from the centre

All residencies will be offered free of charge. Residencies will take place from January 31 to February 16.

Contact Gok-Lim Finch (director@vicparkarts.org.au) with any questions.

Expressions of interest close 6 December and successful applicants will be notified by December 14.
