DESCRIPTION:Exhibition runs: 6 February – 24 February 2026\nOpening event: Friday 6 February\, 5.30-7.30pm \nAssemblage showcases a group of emerging artists who work in a variety of disciplines that include painting\, drawing\, textiles\, sculpture and installation. The distinctive creative voices of Elizabeth Hughes\, Agnes Tregonning-Barwell\, Jay Quin\, Anna ‘Marta’ Martianova and Cadia Annita combine to express a range of diverse responses to contemporary life. Each artist presents a slice of their own unique history and identity. DESCRIPTION:Tickets available here ($15+bf) \nDiscover the ways that culture and cuisine are interwoven on a laid-back evening getting to know your neighbours with delicious homemade food… \nCultural Dinners are an interactive experience where a local host is invited to prepare a meal to share their unique story and heritage. After introductions\, guests join in preparing an element of the dinner before having a homely sit-down meal together. \nThe Cultural Sharing Dinners Project is an initiative of the Victoria Park Centre for the Arts\, in collaboration with Victoria Park Community Centre. This project is funded by the Australian Government’s Fostering Integration Grants Program through the Department of Home Affairs. \n

SUMMARY:Anna Sleptsova and The Piano in the Park
DESCRIPTION:Victoria Park Centre for the Arts was donated a community piano from the ABC in 2025. A mentoring series will be run in 2026\, with the support of an arts grant from Town of Victoria Park\, where senior pianists share their musical and creative experience with young and emerging musicians. \nWe are inviting observers (all ages/levels) along to this session in a friendly and safe environment. Free to attend\, but registration is essential. \nWe’re delighted to announce our Piano in the Park mentors: \nSun 15 Feb – Anna Sleptsova (Concert Pianist & former Head of Piano at WAAPA)\nSun 08 March – Gaby Gunders (UWA Conservatorium of Music)\nSun 29 March – Tommy Seah (President of the Royal Schools Music Club & Piano Faculty WAAPA) \nSat 02 May – Matinee Showcase at Ellington Jazz Club (Tickets will be available through www.ellingtonjazz.com.au) \nRegister to attend any of the mentoring sessions as an observer here. \nIf you are interested in participating as a mentee\, please submit expression of interest to: mareelaffan@hotmail.com.
