TRUE CONNECTIONS ARTIST WORKSHOP SERIES

Opening night: 27 April 6:00pm

Exhibtion: 27 April 2018 – 9 May 2018

True Connections will include six workshops for 10 artists with the project culminating in an art exhibition. This project is about connecting artists with a disability from the Creative Connections group to other local artists sourced through Victoria Park Centre for the Arts.

The six workshops leading up to the exhibition have run during the February and early March 2018 to allow enough time for artists to produce a quality work.

True Connections aims to allow artist share ideas, space and creative energy on an equal footing. Often artists with a disability are placed in a position of less power and expectation than other artists and are mostly the ‘student’ in the relationship. This project explores what happens when this power difference is not present and people ‘share’ rather than ‘teach’.
