Greg draws inspiration for his work from the forests of the South West.
The everchanging light, form and space of the forest is interpreted through the use of natural materials collected from site such as wax, ochre and resin.
Minimal compositions, highly textured surfaces, create rich patinas, reflections and seemingly floating forms.
The resulting works are both physical and ambiguous, much like the forest itself.
Greg has been a practicing artist for over 20 years and has studied at Claremont School of Art, Edith Cowan and Monash Universities. He served as Curator of the City of Bunbury Art Collection for 7 years , more recently he owned and operated his own studio gallery in the South West near Balingup.
The exhibition is the culmination of a 4 week pilot “artist in residence” program at the Victoria Park Centre for the Arts.
