Art of Empowerment

Workshops to be held: March to April

Cost: Free

Location: Victoria Park Centre for the Arts

Community engagement will be the focus of a series of interactive multi-media art workshops facilitated by an experienced artist

The free workshops will be open to multicultural people of all ages including refugees, newly arrived migrants, indigenous people and those for whom Australia has always been “home”.

Workshops will be held in friendly and encouraging spaces enabling participants to freely discover the benefits of creative expression. No prior experience in any art form is required and everyone will be encouraged to try something new or different.

A key objective of the “Art of Empowerment” project is the development of connections; with an emphasis on identity, belonging and community. Individual and communal making are creative strategies that encourage the sharing of stories and experiences.
