Welcome

The Victoria Park Centre for the Arts is the Town of Victoria Park’s community arts and culture centre. We encourage, stimulate and promote local arts and cultural activities for established and emerging artists of all persuasions.

We are an integral part of the Town’s art scene. Whether you’re a beginner, an amateur or a professional; in your early years, or just a “little” older, you’re welcome.

Come to the gift shop and browse through some of the beautiful and inspiring handmade giftware by artists, many of whom reside locally.

Workshops and classes for adults, teenagers, younger kids and special needs

We have a variety of high quality classes and workshops to encourage everyone to “have a go” - the options are constantly changing.

ART OF EMPOWERMENT WORKSHOP

March-April

Community engagement will be the focus of a series of interactive multi-media art workshops facilitated by an experienced artist.

ARABIC WOMEN’S COMMUNITY CHOIR WORKSHOP

Monday 20 March-24 April 6.30pm-9.30pm

Fadilah Sabiry will bring women together in a safe and inclusive environment that encourages women to celebrate their Arabic heritage and cultural background as part of the Australian society through singing Arabic and Iraqi folk songs.

TOWN OF VICTORIA PARK ART COLLECTION EXHIBITION

Friday 24 March - Wednesday 5 April

Opening: Thursday 30 March 5pm

The Town’s Art Collection comprises of approximately 70 artworks, with a primary focus on the work of Western Australian artists. Artworks span a wide range of media; over half of the Collection consists of paintings, with the remainder of the collection including sculpture, drawings, ceramics, print works, photographs and textiles.

CREATIVE CONNECTIONS COLLECTIVE EXHIBITION

Creative Connections is a not-for-profit organisation operated by a team of volunteers who work together to provide opportunities to raise community awareness of people with disabilities and to provide avenues for them to connect by developing creative connections through art and poetry.

The Said Poets Society, a local non-profit, is running a four-workshop performance poetry masterclass over four weeks with 10 Victoria Park locals, culminating in a performance poetry showcase open to the whole community.

Wednesday 12 April 10am-1pm

Paula Silbert, renowned arts consultant, curator and media personality will guide you through a game- changing workshop.

Ideal for visual artists, sculptors, crafts practitioners, designer-makers, mural artists, public artists, emerging, mid-career and established artists, art teachers and their peers.

An intimate evening of poetry.

VISUAL FEAST-KZ SPEECH AUTISM MONTH ANNUAL EXHIBITION

Wednesday 19 April - Tuesday 25 April

Opening: Wednesday 19 April 6.00pm-8.30pm

Help raise awareness of autism by indulging in this visual feast for the eyes. Artworks are created during a series of workshops undertaken throughout the year by children and young adults with autism.
